Healthcare and science have been a major focus in Temple for more than 100 years. The Temple infrastructure for healthcare is immense with the presence of Baylor Scott & White Health and the Central Texas Veterans Healthcare System of Temple. And with the recent completion of the Temple Health & Bioscience District (THBD) Office and Laboratory Facility, Temple now has a hub for the evolution of a strong biotechnology sector to support the healthcare industry. The THBD Office and Laboratory Facility provides premier office and lab space for early-stage biotech companies that are taking health-related products from conception to manufacturing. Combining the outstanding office and lab infrastructure with the uniquely equipped Common Lab, it is easy to see that Temple is the place to be to grow your start-up biotech company.

Election of New Officers for the Board of Directors

At the regularly scheduled Temple Health & Bioscience District board meeting on October 26, 2016, the Board of Directors designated new officers to take effect November 1st.

The new officers are:
Thomas Baird, Chairman
Michael Norman, Vice Chairman
Doug Streater, Secretary/Treasurer

Sincere thanks go to Wendell Williams who has served as the board chair since the inception of the District in 2003. Mr. Williams did an outstanding job in guiding the district from a mere vision to where we are today with a 5,000 square foot office and laboratory facility, three exceptional biotech startup tenants, and numerous enriching programs for the Temple community. Thank you Wendell for a job very well done!
